Our mission is to provide a quality childcare experience that helps your child develop physically, socially, and emotionally.
Hello. My name is Laurie Capuano. I am the owner and primary caregiver at Bumble Bee Day Care. I have been caring for children for over sixteen years. I am certified in CPR, First Aid and have also completed the state nutrition guidelines training and state licensing orientation program. I have two children of my own. My husband Dan is my Assistant. We opened Bumble Bee Day Care because we love children. We promise to nurture your child as if he or she was our own.
I believe that all children deserve love, attention, and nurturing. I believe that a safe environment allows children to explore and grow. At Bumble Bee Day Care, we allow children to have hands-on learning experiences. This fosters age appropriate development. We read to the children everyday. We believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self-esteem. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. Most importantly, however, I believe that children need to have fun! At Bumble Bee Day Care, we often have Disco Dancing parties, Fun Art Projects, Computer Use, Cooking, Science Projects, and we play lots of exciting games. Children learn best from experiencing the world around them.
At Bumble Bee Day Care we recognize that you have a difficult schedule and support parents the best we can. We offer early drop-off and late pick-up so that your schedule can be accommodated. We recognize the importance of work, and the stress and demands placed on parents. We strive to make it easier on parents by giving them the knowledge that their children are in good hands.
Bumble Bee Day Care is located at 4 Enterprise Road in New Paltz, New York. We are a Licensed Group Family Day Care. We opened our doors in 2001 after we built a 32 foot addition specifically designed for our day care. We offer a fenced in yard for safe outdoor play. We combine music and movement to bring about a love for life and learning. The children enjoy daily activities like: computers, cooking, music, art, games, and of course reading, reading, reading! We are proud members of the Friends of the Plattekill Library. We accept children ages 6 weeks old and up! Summer programs available. Full and Part time positions available.
Bumblebee Daycare provides childcare to families participating in SPEAK, a program of the Language Immersion Institute at SUNY New Paltz. SPEAK - Speaking Proficiency in English for Adults and Kids - is a weekend immersion program for English language learners in the Mid-Hudson Valley.

This is the picture of the Bumble Bee Gang who traveled to Albany to present the check on CBS Channel 6.
Bumble Bee Day Care's MDA Backyard Carnival was a success! Our goal was to raise enough money so the kids could present the check on the Telethon. We reached our goal! We will be appearing at the 10:40 a.m. cutaway on Monday, Labor Day, on Albany CBS Channel 6. We raised over $700 in just three hours! The people in our area had a great time, and we would like to thank their kind generosity.
We held a raffle and the top prize was a Night on the Town, which included limousine accommodations from Paradise Limousine Service Inc. in New Paltz, dinner for two at the Mountain Brauhaus and two movie tickets to the New Paltz Cinema.
We had 28 contributors, not including the labor force which was made up of Day Care families and the Friends of the Plattekill Library.
The horses from Paradise Farms in New Paltz, Honey and Cinnamon, were loved by all. My son Stephen rode Cinnamon 14 times! A Day in the Shade provided the Bounce Castle, and we even got an old-fashioned popcorn maker from Rapid Tool Rentals in New Paltz.
The generosity and kindness of the people in our area is overwhelming. Home Depot in Newburgh, not only helped supply the lumber for the booths, but may even match funds.
The kids worked hard, and it really paid off, because everyone wanted to know if we were going to do it again next year, and our answer to this is: "Yes!"
